Pumping Station Krimpenerwaard.
The Krimpenerwaard pumping station pumps water from the ditches in the Krimpenerwaard to the Lek river and enables water transport from the Lek river into the Krimpenerwaard if more water is needed in the polder during dry periods. The new designed pump contributes to keep the feet dry and enabling having sufficient water in the polder effecting about 50,000 people in the area.
Conversion of Krimpenerwaard pumping station with a fish-friendly pump turbine
Stork converted the pumping station and installed an in-house developed BVOP VVT pump turbine. The uniqueness of this pump turbine is not only that fish can swim safely through it, but that it also generates energy.
