The right people in the right place

“To make an entry as the new director in this period of crisis is indeed quite bizarre”, says Thijs Peddemors ever cheerful. “Instead of shaking hands with colleagues and customers, we had to stick to shorter MS Teams meetings. The advantage however was that I had more time to get to know the company.” Thijs noticed a few things: “Danfoss is an A-brand. You’ll find this in organization and reputation, but also in processes and procedures. Moreover, the technical product knowledge is at a very high level within the company. By focusing even more on the potential at existing customers and gaining market share at prospects and new applications we can grow even more. We want to develop our current, leading market position by taking our customer focus to an even higher level. When you put yourself in the position of the customer, thinks along with him and supports him with knowledge and innovative products which help him, you will be of added value to your customer.”

Application Development Center (ADC)
The focus on the ADC in Gorinchem also fits in this context, with the appointment of Dirk Verschoor as Director ADC. “Not everyone is aware that our ADC provides companies and partners the possibility to develop and test innovations together with us; mind you in a lifelike simulated environment.” As a passionate technician Dirk Verschoor sees plenty of opportunities for the near future. “Take for instance electrification: To put this into practice, we as Danfoss Drives invest in electrical power conversion, or power conversion equipment. In this way, road vehicles and ships will soon undergo a large-scale transition to electrically powered (hybrid) engines. However, to facilitate this you need additional auxiliary systems, such as energy storage, chargers and shore supply systems; products that are often custom-made by our partners and therefore must first be extensively tested and validated to scale. That’s all possible in our ADC!”
