Om de KRW-doelen te halen, moet het afvalwater aan strengere eisen gaan voldoen. Dit geeft extra druk op de waterschappen om naast de al verouderde en overbelaste rioolwaterzuiveringsinstallaties de zuiveringscapaciteit op niveau te krijgen. Die zuiveringsinstallaties kunnen op termijn geen extra afvalwater meer verwerken, waardoor ze bestaande vergunningen van bedrijven inperken, lozingen stoppen of een hogere prijs vragen.<br>Om te voorkomen dat bedrijven meer betalen aan rioolheffing \u00f3f zelf hun afvalwater (beter) gaan reinigen, is het slim om naar de hele watercyclus te kijken. Van watermeter tot afvoer.
