Increasingly heavy rainfall and heatwaves necessitate smart adaptation strategies. Climate-adaptive solutions thus form a crucial item on the agenda of urban water managers and sewerage administrators. Sewers often cannot cope with the abundance of water during a downpour, while on the other hand drought lurks. The excess rainwater can be collected by applying <strong>smart new urban water concepts<\/strong>. Examples of this are the reuse of wastewater and the collection of excess rainwater in reopened canals, water plazas and meadows.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By increasingly storing or discharging rainwater above ground via, for example, bioswales, green strips and roads designed for them, we achieve a cost-effective approach that contributes to an integrated approach to greenery, roads and sewers and it also helps to limit heat.
