Biogas Holland
About us
Biogas Holland is specialized in anything that has to do with biogas plants. We can help you with the design, realisation and management of a biogas plant. With this we offer you the required advice and service. Our business values are: safety, reliability and flexibility.
Products

Biogas storage
Biogas must be stored in a responsible way in order to maintain a constant pressure and to homogenise the gas. Membrane gas holders and gas bags are suitable means for this purpose. In addition to standard UV and weather resistant designs, we offer customised products to suit your needs, including - Pressure regulation - Overpressure protection - Blowers - Level measurement

Biogas analyzing systems
In order to ensure the safety of a biogas plant, the treated biogas is analysed in real time for the parameters: - O2 - H2S - CH4 - CO2 By continuous monitoring of these parameters, the occurrence of explosive mixtures is prevented and various options for feedback mechanisms are available to allow for fully automatic protection of an installation. We also offer an option for fully automatic calibration.

Drying and cooling installations
By cooling the biogas, condensation is created which removes water from the biogas. Biogas Holland designs cooling installations according to the specific application within your process. Then the gas is heated, for example by the produced heat from your own system. The condensation water is collected and drained to a condensation pit or a sewer drain.

Condensation pit
A condensation pit collects the separated condensation water and forms a safe barrier between the biogas plant and the outside environment. The condensation pit is equipped with a water lock and runs over to a 2nd compartment where the condensation water is drained off by means of a pump with level control. On request, the condensation pits can be adapted to meet the customer's specific requirements regarding automation requirements such as leak detection and drying-up protection. For customised products, extra attention is paid to operation and maintenance outside the condensation pit, ventilation possibilities and fall protection.

Activated carbon filters
Activated carbon filters are used to capture pollution from the biogas. Activated carbon has a very large internal surface area and is therefore very suitable for adsorption. The active carbon can be impregnated with certain chemicals to increase its properties for specific applications. - Non-impregnated activated carbon is usually used for the removal of siloxanes and VOCs (e.g. terpenes) - Impregnated and catalytic activated carbon is mostly used for Removal of organic substances (e.g. Hg, NH3, H2S) For optimal adsorption in the activated carbon filters, air dosage is required. Biogas Holland has selected a number of activated carbon varieties for optimal stand time and selection requirements of our customers. In addition, we perform carbon swaps ourselves and make the activated carbon filter inert before the carbon swap, transport and processing. Biogas Holland designs tailor-made activated carbon filters.

Flare installations
Flare installations have to meet specific requirements, depending on the application. Biogas Holland offers flare installations for various applications. The 'MTF (medium temperature flare)' and 'HTF (high temperature flare)' can be used for flaring biogas during failures, maintenance and calamities of the utilisation installation. The homogeneous burning of excess biogas is done in a safe manner. If required, the flaring installations can be built as a turn-key unit on a skid including: - Control - Blower - Safety devices - Gas analysis - Option to supply gas to a separate gas outlet - Cooling/drying In addition, Biogas Holland also has various rental flares available.

Cogeneration
Biogas can be efficiently converted into electricity and heat by means of combined heat and power (CHP). The energy produced can be reused within the own process or, in case of a surplus, delivered back to the energy network. In this way, savings can be made on fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and the energy bill is reduced. We supply high-efficiency CHP plants with an electrical capacity of between 75 kW and 2000 kW and with an optional catalyst module for cleaner emissions.

Boiler & heat distribution
A boiler converts natural gas or biogas into thermal energy. By means of heat distribution, this energy can be distributed to various processes. If only heat needs to be produced, we offer the option of installing a (steam/hot water) boiler.

Pipework, protego's and fittings
The pipework of a biogas plant transports the biogas and ensures it is collected and stored. We adapt the pipework of our biogas installations to the requirements of the process, the project or the customer. We supply pipework in stainless steel, HDPE and/or certified pipework. Installations are assembled by certified welders according to the applicable welding methods. In addition, Biogas Holland offers a wide range of fittings.

Engineering
Every project starts with a good design. An important factor here is a well-founded and complete technical file with detailed specifications. Such a file contains, among other things: - Process drawings (P&ID, PFD) - Overview of components, materials and fittings - Functional description of the installation as a whole - Process calculations - Description of the installation - Design drawings (2D and/or 3D) - Verification of emission requirements and applicable standards - Budgeting Our engineers make a custom design for each project and look at the possibilities within the project together with the client. Besides engineering issues you can also contact Biogas Holland for: - Optimisation and completion of existing biogas installations and industrial heat systems - Up-to-date documentation of existing biogas installations and industrial heat systems - Mapping of applicable laws and regulations for biogas installations and industrial heat systems - Optimisation of heat utilisation - Safety studies (e.g. Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), FAT, SAT, ATEX) - Supervising and/or preparing various inspections and certifications - Draw up various documentation for inspections (Risk Assessment and Evaluation (RI&E), explosion safety document (EVD), etc.)

Inspections
Our technicians can support you in identifying and carrying out the maintenance work specifically required for your biogas plant, biogas utilisation or industrial heat systems. With an on-site visit, the entire installation is inspected thoroughly and points of attention are addressed immediately. This allows you to guarantee and increase the safety and continuity of your process. Gascamera Despite intensive maintenance, gas leaks can occur in a biogas installation. The release of biogas, and with it harmful residual products, can lead to dangerous situations. This must be avoided at all times. Leaks can occur because pipework expands or shrinks as a result of changing temperatures or seasonal influences. This can cause small openings at pipe connections, through which gas can easily escape. Our specialists use advanced gas detection equipment that is capable of detecting and visualising more than 400 different types of gas by means of so-called Optical Gas Imaging (OGI). Our inspections are carried out according to the guidelines of the NTA 8399 by gas measurement certified specialists. Preventive measuring and timely detection of leaks ensures better safety, higher efficiency and emission reduction. For more information visit www.gascamera.nl.

Service
Drawing up a maintenance plan Periodic maintenance is required in order to function optimally and to guarantee the life span of an installation. Since every installation functions under specific conditions and within a specific process, an installation dependent maintenance plan should be drawn up. In case of changes within your process, this maintenance plan should be adapted. Our technicians can draw up a maintenance plan specifically for your installation in order to guarantee the continuity of your process as effectively as possible. Maintenance The technical staff of Biogas Holland has relevant experience and knowledge of various installations, which enables them to properly maintain your installation. We strive to continuously expand and improve the knowledge of our technical staff by offering product specific courses and trainings. Inertisation Inertisation of biogas installations is required when service or overhaul is needed. The biogas installation must be made gas free/oxygen free in a safe and responsible way. Our technical staff has the right knowledge and experience to inert your installation. Subsequently, the biogas installation is put into operation again and extensively tested in order to achieve optimal and continuous operation. Rental Biogas Holland offers the possibility to rent various components and instrumentation. On request, we can explore the possibilities within your project together with you.
