De Kuiper Infrabouw is a unique civil engineering contractor. We have over 70 years of experience in civil engineering. We design, manufacture, and implement hydraulic structures. Within our organization, there is a great passion for everything related to water management. Born and raised in the Alblasserwaard region between the Lek and Merwede rivers, we know exactly what it takes to keep our feet dry.
Now that we are facing new challenges due to the changing climate, innovative solutions are needed. Our team includes experienced designers, mechanical engineers, and fitters. Because we have this expertise in-house, the various phases of a project seamlessly integrate.

With a polder pumping station, which can be a pump or screw pump, we ensure that water levels in a specific area are regulated. A pumping station pumps water from a lower or higher level to a lower level. For new construction or renovation of a pumping station, we offer a complete solution: we design, build, and install all the necessary components.

The construction of sewage pumping stations is a specialized field. We have experience in designing, building, and renovating various types of sewage pumping stations, including dry and wet pumping stations and booster pumping stations. When renovating an existing pumping station, we provide a temporary pumping system that takes over the pumping station's work, ensuring that the surrounding area—both people and nature—is not impacted by our work.

We renovate and replace mechanical installations in sewage and polder pumping stations. For example, we replace (structural) components of pumping stations and replace fittings in pressure pipelines. We create mechanical engineering designs (pumps, fittings, and structural work). We also design and implement TPIs (Temporary Pump Installations). Based on 3D measurements, structural components, fittings, and piping are designed to fit the actual situation. This ensures that the design is always 100% feasible.

To regulate and/or separate water levels, we design and build weirs. A weir influences the water level in a watercourse. We design and build weirs made of steel, wood, and concrete. A weir is usually equipped with an adjustable weir gate. This gate is often automatically controlled but can also be manually operated. Our strength lies in devising and developing technical solutions. We develop all our designs in 3D. With the utmost care, our professionals build weirs, large and small, every day to protect our country from the effects of climate change. Weirs, dams, and pumping stations form a barrier for fish. To allow fish to pass around these bottlenecks, pumping stations and weirs are made fish-passable. We design and build fish passages at pumping stations and weirs, but also as a separate structure in a quay between two water level areas. Depending on the location, water level differences, and available space, we design the right type of fish passage.

The subsurface in the Netherlands is full of pipes. Besides sewer systems in residential areas, we also focus on replacing underground pipes at water treatment plants, as well as replacing pressure pipes behind main pumping stations. This type of pipework may need replacing for various reasons. This type of work combines the disciplines of design, mechanical engineering, and sewer pipe replacement in a single project. That's precisely where we excel. We replace pipes made of concrete, PE, GKV, and steel. Depending on local conditions, this pipework may or may not be piled.
