Watson-Marlow BV
About us
Since 1956, we have been manufacturing displacement pumps and providing technical support to a range of industries. We started in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, where the inventor Bernard Refson developed the first technically and commercially viable peristaltic pump for use outside the laboratory. In 1969, we moved to our headquarters in Falmouth, Cornwall. Since then, we have expanded geographically to serve more than 60 markets worldwide. We consist of 10 leading brands, each specializing in a niche of fluid transfer technologies. In 1990, we became part of Spirax Group plc, a FTSE 100 company. As part of Spirax Group, our shared goal is to create sustainable value for all our stakeholders while building a more efficient, safer, and sustainable world.
We are problem solvers. Our people around the world are specialists in their work, and the company is set up to give individuals mandate and support. This also applies to the products and services we offer to our customers, who have come to know us for our quality.

Qdos chemical metering pumps
Delivering flow rates that remain constant right up to 7 bar Qdos peristaltic chemical metering pumps give users a unique advantage over diaphragm metering pumps. Qdos pumps offer long maintenance intervals - reducing the impact of process downtime and lowering the overall cost of ownership. Qdos pumps eliminate the need for ancillary equipment while ensuring accurate, linear and repeatable metering across all process conditions.

Bredel NR Transfer Hoses
The Bredel NR Transfer hose is a new, natural rubber hose designed for general fluid transfer duties at pressures up to 12 bar (174 psi). This hose complements the Bredel NR Metering hose, which is specifically designed for heavy-duty applications with a pressure range of up to 16 bar (232 psi). Some features and benefits of the Bredel NR Transfer hose include: • Long lifespan: The hose is engineered for exceptional durability in fluid transfer applications. • Pressure capability: It can operate at a maximum pressure of 12 bar (174 psi). • Maximum suction lift: Up to 9 meters (30 feet). • Maximum fluid temperature: 80°C (176°F). The Bredel NR Transfer hose is suitable for various fluids, including: • Sludge with a high solid content • Food and beverage waste • Abrasives slurries This wear-resistant hose optimizes the performance of peristaltic pumps in applications such as water and wastewater treatment, construction, ceramics, pulp and paper, power generation (biogas, biomass), and food and beverage. With the introduction of the NR Transfer hose, Bredel meets the needs of customers seeking a versatile hose for transferring different fluids. Bredel customers can now rely on a single source, Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, for all their applications. The hose element is critical to ensure pump performance, durability and efficiency. Composite reinforced transfer hoses are constructed from high-quality compounded rubbers reinforced with four individual layers of braided nylon. The Bredel NR Transfer hose is manufactured to dimension with advanced wrapping technology, optimised for long life in fluid transfer applications.

Qdos H-Flo
The Qdos H-FLO is the latest addition to the Qdos pump range, specifically designed for higher flow rates up to 600 L/h. This peristaltic pump delivers the same outstanding accuracy and reliability as other Qdos metering and dosing pumps. The Qdos H-FLO offers long maintenance intervals, reducing the impact of process downtime and lowering the overall cost of ownership. Key features and benefits of the Qdos H-FLO include: • Flow Rates: Up to 600 L/h with a pressure capability of up to 7 bar (102 psi). • RFID Pumphead Detection: Ensures confirmation of the correct pumphead placement, enhancing process safety. • Revolution Counter: Facilitates pumphead service maintenance. • Scalability: The highly precise Qdos H-FLO pump can be scaled to fit the customer’s process, whether it’s in water and wastewater treatment, mining, chemical applications in food and beverage, or pulp and paper industries. • Cost Savings: Like other Qdos peristaltic pumps, the Qdos H-FLO achieves cost savings through higher precision chemical metering, with an accuracy of ±1% and repeatability of ±0.5% during dosing. Adeel Hassan, Product Manager at Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, emphasizes the company’s commitment to engineering innovation for solving complex customer problems. The Qdos H-FLO inherits unique features from the existing Qdos range while introducing new-to-market enhancements to simplify, enhance safety, and optimize cost-effectiveness in chemical dosing.

The 530, 630 and 730 ranges provide repeatable performance, gentle low‑shear pumping, and simple tube changes to minimise downtime. With IP31 and IP66 models, plus extensive industrial communication options including 4‑20 mA, RS232/485, PROFIBUS®, EtherNet/IP™ and PROFINET®, our pumps integrate easily into chemical plants. Ideal for corrosive, abrasive, viscous and off‑gassing fluids across dosing, batching and transfer applications.

Bredel heavy-duty hose pumps - Minimal maintenance; maximum performance
Bredel heavy-duty hose pumps are specifically designed for intensive applications involving abrasive sludge, paste, and slurries, and offer a remarkable volumetric accuracy of 100%. Unlike other pumps, Bredel pumps have no moving parts that come into contact with the product, and they eliminate the need for mechanical seals. The pumped fluid is entirely contained within a long-life hose, ensuring that operators are not exposed to chemicals, slurries, or sludge. Key features of Bredel hose pumps include: High Flow Rates: These pumps can achieve flow rates of up to 108 cubic meters per hour at 16 bar. Solids Handling: Bredel industrial pumps can efficiently transfer up to 80% solids in suspension. Independent Flow: The flow is completely independent of suction and discharge conditions. Robust Engineering: Heavy-duty rotor bearings within the pump rotor, along with a unique buffer zone, protect against overhung loads and contamination. Bredel pumps also feature a fully protected drive by utilizing direct-coupled technology. This design combines reliability of long-coupled pumps with a compact footprint of close-coupled pumps. The Bredel Series offers 24/7 dependability, making it an ideal choice for various applications. No Ancillary Equipment: Bredel pumps require no additional peripherals, check valves, or sealing water flush systems. Versatile Pumping: They can handle abrasive slurries, corrosive acids, large solids, and gaseous liquids with ease. High Viscosity and Shear Sensitivity: Bredel pumps are suitable for products with high viscosity or those that are shear-sensitive. Run-Dry Capability: These pumps can run indefinitely without damage even when dry. Minimal Maintenance: Maintenance is straightforward—just replace the hose. Suction Lift and Metering Accuracy: Bredel pumps offer up to 9.5 meters of suction lift and ±1% metering accuracy.
