Measurement and control technology

Does the flow rate your water network operates on still add up?

In practice, many organisations still operate their water networks or installations based on existing measurement data or original design values. At the same time, systems are constantly evolving. Networks are expanded, pipes accumulate deposits and operational settings are adjusted. As a result, the actual flow rate may differ from the values on which the system is currently being operated.

This is precisely why an independent verification of the flow rate can be valuable. With a clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement, it is possible to measure the flow in a pipe without shutting down the installation or opening the pipeline. The sensors are simply mounted on the outside of the pipe. This quickly provides insight into what is actually flowing through the system.

This measurement method is commonly used to verify existing flow measurements, perform temporary flow monitoring and analyse the performance of water networks and sewer systems.

During Aqua Nederland Vakbeurs we will demonstrate this in practice. At our stand you will find a pipe system equipped with several types of clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters. Here you can see up close how a non-invasive flow measurement is carried out and what kind of insights such a measurement can provide.
