EMHA received a commission from Xylem to conduct a seven-yearly inspection of the Putten pumping station for WS Hollandse Delta. The pumping station is equipped with three fish-friendly pumps, which together can pump 450,000 liters per minute. This is more than enough to drain the entire island of Putten. The purpose of this inspection is to ensure the long-term, efficient, and reliable operation of the pumping station. Visual inspections were performed on the pumps, drives, inlet and outlet points, and emergency gates, among other things. Measurements were also taken, such as wall thickness determination, multi-channel vibration measurements, and impeller clearance checks. In addition to conducting the inspection, EMHA adds value by making recommendations regarding the most suitable research methods and preparing clear, concise, and as standardized as possible reports. This enables the Water Board to more quickly fine-tune maintenance programs and make well-considered decisions regarding the maintenance plan and strategy. Following this, we are working hard on developing a standardized methodology with associated inspection tools.
