PB Weerselo | Renovation and hardness reduction
The Weerselo production site has a capacity of one million cubic meters per year and was built in 1966 and expanded in 1977. Renovation is necessary to reduce the risk of failure and the risk of bacterial contamination of the clean water in the future.
The installation is equipped with a softening system that reduces the hard water from 15.2 dH to 7.3 dH.
RWB (WTB), in combination with H. van Haarst (Civiel) and Moekotte (E+PA), has received the order for the construction work.
The work broadly includes:
- A new purification plant including a softening plant with a capacity of 300 m3/hour
- A renewed clean water pump installation
- A new rinse water treatment installation
- Completely new electrical and process automation installation
- Adapted front area clean water cellar
- Custom extraction well housing
- Optimization in the context of area protection and species protection at this location
