Ferric chloride is a widely used inorganic coagulant for drinking water and wastewater treatment. It is applied for water clarification through coagulation followed by sedimentation or filtration, and it can also contribute to overall process stability thanks to its effectiveness across a broad pH range. In wastewater treatment, ferric chloride is frequently used for phosphate removal.
