Real time polymer optimization with Metris addIQ
ANDRITZ Metris addIQ RheoScan and Metris addIQ ARGOS are AI powered optical measurement systems designed to automatically optimize polymer consumption and stabilize sludge thickening and dewatering performance. By continuously monitoring real-time process conditions—such as sludge viscosity, or centrate/filtrate quality—they adjust polymer dosage and machine settings 24/7, ensuring that equipment always operates at peak efficiency without the need for continuous on-site supervision.
RheoScan provides fully automated polymer control for belt filter presses, and gravity belt thickeners, helping to prevent overdosing, overspills, and fluctuations in cake dryness. ARGOS brings the same intelligence to decanter centrifuges and screw presses, detecting changes in centrate/filtrate quality and adapting polymer dosage accordingly.
Both systems are compatible with equipment from any manufacturer and suitable for all municipal and industrial sludge types. With polymer savings of up to 40% for belt presses and up to 25% for decanter centrifuges and screw presses, they deliver rapid payback, higher process stability, and long-term cost reductions—essentially acting as a smart, always-present operator that keeps the process optimized around the clock.
