Process Automation Engineer
As a Process Automation Engineer, you'll be working on controlling our drinking water processes. You won't be on the sidelines, but right at the heart of the technology. You'll design, program, and implement new software solutions for our systems. This will be based on established building blocks, standards, and typical solutions we use at Oasen. You'll work partly from home and partly on-site. Preparation and engineering will be primarily done at home; implementation, testing, and delivery will take place at our treatment plants. You'll work on three to four projects each year, with durations ranging from one week to up to 10 weeks. No two projects are the same: sometimes you'll be deeply involved in the software, other times you'll be right on-site working with the technology. What makes Oasen special? We do everything ourselves. No external team just "looking over your shoulder," but you design and build the solution. This requires independence, but certainly also collaboration with fellow engineers, technicians, and project managers. You'll also be involved in: - Independently programming and developing PA software; - Working according to established standards, building blocks, and typical practices; - Preparing projects from home and delivering them on-site; - Working on projects within technology, industry, and construction; - Collaborating with colleagues while taking ownership of your work.

What will you be doing as a Process Design Engineer? - Carrying out innovative concept development; - Optimising existing technologies; - Translating theoretical knowledge and research results into practical and innovative technological designs (including PFDs and P&IDs); - Preparing complex technological calculations, including mass balances and OPEX analyses; - Providing (technical) training courses, lectures and presentations internally and externally; - Developing, managing and applying design tools and design guidelines for standard and modular products; - Ensuring knowledge sharing and further development of technology based on data and practical experience; - Advising the sales team on the technical substantiation of solutions, both internally and externally; - Supporting the sales organisation as a second-line technical resource; - Carrying out feasibility studies; - Supervising lab and pilot research, assessing and reporting test results; - Chairing process meetings; Who are you? You are someone who gets energy from (process) technology, responsibility and variety. You recognise yourself in the following... - You have a completed higher professional education degree in chemical/environmental technology. - Several years of experience in a similar position is an advantage. - Affinity with the electrical engineering scope (E-scope): ability to understand the electrical engineering aspects of an installation, incorporate them into the design and coordinate effectively with those involved. - You work in a structured and highly accurate manner, have an analytical way of thinking and can quickly grasp technical issues. - You have strong communication skills: you know how to convey information clearly, coordinate with different disciplines and involve customers in choices, findings and advice.

You will work in multidisciplinary project teams together with project leaders, mechanical engineers and external automation specialists. You will provide the process engineering input that is crucial to the success of the project. This requires substantive acumen, ownership and the ability to communicate clearly, both internally and externally. At Jotem, you will be given a great deal of independence. We work on the basis of trust: you are responsible for your projects, your planning and your choices. At the same time, you are never on your own; sharing knowledge and working together are a matter of course. Your tasks at a glance: - Analysing customer queries and water analyses; - Designing and substantiating process engineering solutions; - Determining process configurations (filters, pumps, pipes, capacities); - Providing functional input for automation and control; - Liaising with project leaders, mechanical engineers and customers; - Testing and commissioning installations, including explaining them to the customer. Every day, Jotem contributes to smarter, more efficient and more sustainable (re)use of water, now and in the future.
