Fishmigration

Van der Ven has constructed four fish passages on behalf of the Brabantse Delta Water Board, three in Woensdrecht and one in Tilburg, to make weirs passable for fish and to promote fish migration. The project will be completed at the end of 2024.

In Woensdrecht, fish lifts have been installed, allowing fish to swim up via a tank with various chambers and pass the weir. In Tilburg, a fish lock has been constructed at the weir on the Dalemdreef in the Dongevallei, which enables fish migration by means of a pipe connection with valves.

These fish passages contribute to improving water quality and promote free fish migration in the region.
