Renovation Moerriool Sonsbeeksingel
Project
The municipality of Arnhem has selected Combinatie Moerriool (Van der Ven en Kumpen NV) for the renovation of the sewer under the Sonsbeeksingel (phase 3). This historic sewer, built in the early 20th century, drains waste and rainwater from Arnhem-Noord and -Oost.
Renovation method
Due to the depth, nearby trees and traffic congestion, the sewer is being renovated from the inside to limit inconvenience. This is done with life-extending measures such as polymer concrete slabs and crack repair. Civil engineering work, such as paving and manhole covers, are also part of the project.
Planning & collaboration
The construction team phase runs until early 2025, after which the implementation starts and the project will be completed in early 2026. Combinatie Moerriool is building on previous successful renovations of the sewer.
