Less volume in aeration tank –> energy consumption down

The aeration process is one of the most important parts of the water treatment process at Industriewater Eerbeek (IWE). Due to the closure of one of the 3 paper factories, the water treatment plant is too large to handle the amount of waste. In order to quickly switch to a reduced basin, a sustainable semi-permanent solution was worked out after a joint brainstorm between Albers Alligator and IWE. The content of the aeration tank was reduced by 60% by installing screens. The length and depth of the basin have been retained. This maintains the oxygen input and significantly reduces energy consumption.
