On January 14, 2027, the new Machinery Regulation (2023/1230) will come into effect and the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) will be repealed. But what exactly does this actually mean?
The original Machinery Directive dates from 1983. Over the years, it has been amended several times to reflect developments in technology. This brings us to the current Machinery Directive: 2006/42/EC. This is already more than 15 years old and therefore needs an update. This will be the Machinery Regulation 2023/1230.
