The expansion was necessary because the capacity of the Nieuwe Wetering wastewater treatment plant was insufficient to process the increase in waste flows in the future. For the expansion, we have constructed an anaerobic tank, new site pipes, new reception work, and a second settling tank. The capacity has been increased by more than 40% so the treatment plant now has a capacity of 1150 m3 per hour.
In addition, we renovated the entire existing installation, both mechanically and electrically. The treatment plant can function again for the next 15 years without major maintenance!
