N₂O Planning, Site Ranking and AI Monitoring
Identifying which wastewater treatment plants should be prioritized for N₂O mitigation can be challenging, especially when measurements are limited and generic emission factors are inaccurate. Cobalt Water developed the N2ORisk Decision Support System (N2ORisk DSS), an AI and machine learning platform that estimates N₂O emissions using available operational data. The system analyzes historical plant data, generates insights and produces a ranked list of sites based on emission risk and mitigation potential. This allows utilities to focus monitoring and mitigation efforts where they will have the greatest impact, accelerating progress toward reducing N₂O emissions.

Nanobubble influent pretreatment
Influent pretreatment by injecting nanobubbles optimizes wastewater treatment processes by removing inhibitory compounds. Activated sludge processes become more efficient because the bacteria get healthier and the aeration efficiency goes up. Less sludge inhibition, better aeration efficiency, means faster nutrient conversion, less energy and less chemicals. In else, more biological capacity with the same infrastructure. Inhibitory compounds to sludge health and aeration efficiency such as surfactants and quarternary ammonium compounds are used in personal care products, cleaning and sanitation products or degreasers. They are micropollutants present in the highest concentrations measured by chemical screening of all detected micropollutants. They are used domestically in steady amounts and industrially as a result of Cleaning in Place procedures or within primary production. Surfactants make fats and oils harder to remove from the wastewater as they emulsify. The compounds share in common that they adsorp to the biomass as well as stick to air bubbles, preventing efficiënt oxygen uptake and oxygen transfer. Techras Nanobubbles has developed innovative technology and methods based on scientifically proven physical/chemical properties and behaviour of nanobubbles and these inhibitory compounds. Full scalle pilots and permanent installation at municipal and industrial wastewater treatment processes have demonstrated significant value in improving effluent quality, reducing operational expenses and CO2 emissions and avoiding infrastructural expansions. This makes nanobubble influent pre-treatment suitable and beneficial for basically every plant.

Needle valves
Needle valves, sometimes referred to as plunger valves, are regulating valves and enable engineers to finely control and regulate water flow and pressure. The precision is achieved through the fine movement of the shaft, which enables the gearbox to move the piston tube in sliding motion towards opening or closing position, depending on the requirements from the control system. Needle valves can be used in many different applications with a need for flow or pressure regulation. In water treatment and distribution, dams, reservoirs, power plants and industry needle valves are e.g. used for: • Flow control • Pressure regulation • Pump start • Turbine by-pass • Discharge • Reservoir inlets • Air regulation When to use needle valves? Needle valve, in comparison with diaphragm control valves, can be used with higher differential pressure, and our needle valve standard range covers a pressure range up to PN100. Our standard size range covers DN80 to DN2000. The needle valves can be manually actuated or can be controlled by electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic actuation.

Nephnet; Battery powered Turbidity sensor
NephNet is the first battery powered, portable turbidity monitor that is revolutionising the industry. It gives the same measurement performance as the more traditional fixed monitor - with no compromise on measurement. The NephNet is used to control both responsive flushing and controlled, planned cleaning, which helps to safeguard water quality for consumers. This new technology offers a string of benefits to help water companies control their mains flushing, including continuous remote monitoring of turbidity; better accuracy at lower levels; fast connection to water mains via hydrants; and wireless communications and alarms. If the NephNet is permanently deployed it can also allow customers to track any issues, identify where problems are occurring and forewarn when any problems are likely to reach the customers. NephNet features and benefits include: - Continuous remote monitoring of turbidity (every second) - Built-in 'automatic zero' technology that offers excellent resolution and better accuracy at lower levels , <0.100 NTU - Quick connection to water mains via hydrants - Wireless communications and alarms - Data accessed via secure website - Battery life for NephNet is over one year - Rechargeable battery for NephNet guarantees extended power longevity - Less water wastage - USB Data logging as standard - Tailor made telemetry - Optional LCD to assist with real time data visibility during flushing quick install - NephNet can be used on any existing logging devices (flow and pressure) - Simple maintenance and check - requires only annual servicing Technical Specifications: - Range: 4/400 NTU (0-4.000, 0-40.00, 0-400.0) - Accuracy: ± 5% of reading or ± 0.02 NTU Whichever is greater

NES / medium voltage switchgear - single busbar
The type-tested medium-voltage switchgear with withdrawable unit technology is used for primary distribution applications. There are numerous cubicle variants, which can be used to provide the optimal solution for the requirements of customers in industry and energy supply companies. Pressure relief channels, single or collective absorbers and deflector plates are used to discharge hot gases arising in the event of an internal arc.
