      AM-Team and Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht kick off a new project to fight N2O emissions at the Amsterdam West treatment facility. AM-Team and Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht started collaboration on the modelling of nitrous oxide (N20) emissions at the Amsterdam West wastewater treatment plant (> 1 million PE capacity). N20 is an approximately 300 times stronger greenhouse gas compared to CO2 and as such significantly contributes to the overall carbon footprint of wastewater treatment. AM-Team's state-of-the-art AMNOXA TM solution will be used to assess the N2O emissions and virtually test mitigation strategies. AMNOXA TM takes into account the variation of N2O both in space and time using a combination of spatial and dynamic models.

      H2S gas detection Hydrogen sulfide, also known as hydrogen sulfide, is a highly toxic gas. It can be detected at low concentrations of H2S. Prolonged inhalation of low concentrations or short-term high concentrations (100-150 ppm) can damage the olfactory organ, making it impossible to smell. At even higher concentrations, it can be fatal to the lungs, even leading to death! The legal limit is therefore set at 1.6 ppm. Working at this concentration for 8 hours poses no risk. Products Notra offers a wide range of reliable sensors for this gas, capable of measuring various ranges. In addition to our extensive range of (Atex-certified) stationary gas detection systems, we also offer portable gas detectors from Industrial Scientific. These can be optionally equipped with wireless communication (Lens Wireless) and live monitoring with GPS. If a gas alarm, man-down alert, or the panic button is pressed, the notification is sent via SMS/email with the corresponding GPS position. Always safely wear devices on your chest: The docking station is connected to iNet. iNet provides insight into the use and behavior of the portable devices. By creating profiles, for example, you can determine exactly what a user can and cannot do with a device. Consider, for example, whether or not the device can be turned on after the calibration date has expired, whether or not bump testing is mandatory before entering the field, whether or not the device can be turned off in an alarm state, etc. The docking station calibrates the devices and performs bump tests. Certificates are stored online and updated after each docking. All measurement results are also downloaded from the devices. iNet also optimizes maintenance. You gain insight into battery status and sensor status. If it is almost time to replace a sensor, a pop-up can be generated. Maintenance can be performed by you or by us.

      The wastewater treatment plant in Dordrecht, Netherlands, relies on INVENT's hyperboloid technology. Back in 2005, 22 HYPERCLASSIC®-Mixers were installed at the municipal wastewater treatment plant. After 16 years of successful operation, they were replaced by even more energy-efficient mixers of the 7th generation in2021. This is not an exception: A large number of wastewater treatment plants that INVENT has equipped since the mid-1990s follow the example of the wwtp Dordrecht and continue to rely on the Hyperboloid-Mixers. Thanks to their low energy consumption and high reliability, INVENT and the HYPERCLASSIC®-Mixer became well-known among Dutch water association 25 years ago. Since then, more than 700 of the unique hyperboloid mixers have been delivered throughout the Netherlands for the mixing of municipal wastewater. Until today, the HYPERCLASSIC®-Mixer is the most widespread vertical mixer.

      The joint wastewater association Staufener Bucht, Germany, has placed its trust in the hyperboloid mixing technology of INVENT Umwelt- und Verfahrenstechnik AG. After 21 years in operation, the association has made the decision to replace the 15 HYPERCLASSIC®-Mixers of the second generation with even more energy efficient mixers of the seventh generation. A resolution was made in Bad Krozingen in 1967 to clean and treat the wastewater of 24 communities as a joint operation at a central location. This marked the launch of the powerful central wastewater treatment plant (wwtp) named Staufener Bucht. It has been in operation as a community wwtp since 1978. When the population number grew and the load limit was reached, the association expanded the wwtp in 1993. These days, it treats wastewater of a population that has since grown to 114,000, thus it is categorized under size class 5. By aerating and mixing in eight cascades in series, the plant achieves optimal environmental conditions for the activated sludge and the respective process. Until the mid 1990s, the wastewater treatment focused primarily on carbon decomposition. Due to the Wastewater Ordinance amended at the time, the plant was designed and equipped in accordance with DWA-A 131 for nutrient elimination, in particular nitrogen and phosphorus. As a result of the more stringent requirements, the existing equipment of the wastewater treatment plant was no longer sufficient. For this reason, 15 second generation HYPERCLASSIC®-Mixers of the same design were installed in the anoxic and optionally aerobic basins in 1996.
