      Meet Sandfirden Technics

Sewage and wastewater can be a tough environment for bushings, to say the least. Traditional bushings that continuously operate in these dirty, abrasive laden liquid conditions, will often see premature wear leading to a short bearing life. This is not the case with Thordon bearings. As an ideal replacement for greased iron, greased bronze bushings, as well as roller bearings, Thordon grease free bushings can be found in a number of applications including pumps, conveyors, screens, drums, flocculators, aerators and grit tanks. Thordon sewage and wastewater bearing grades were specifically developed and engineered to improve the reliability and performance of equipment operating in these harsh conditions. An improvement in bearing performance can significantly reduce maintenance costs and related down time compared to traditional bearing solutions. Sandfirden Technnics is exclusively Thordon agent for the Benelux and we will be pleased to inform you about the possibilities during Aqua exhibition. We look forward to meet you on our booth K45.

    3. Mission Water Security: Successful inspection of 20 km of water lines using high-tech robots.

Mission Water Security: Successful inspection of 20 km of water lines using high-tech robots.

How do you inspect two massive water lines that run 20 kilometers long, have a diameter of 1.4 meters, and lie parallel just a few meters apart? With precision, cutting-edge technology, and a strong team spirit! That’s exactly what Rosenxt Linegy achieved in the Netherlands in mid-September 2025. Together with PWN, the drinking water supplier in the province of North Holland, we deployed two inspection robots – one Multicam Robot and one Wirebreak Robot – to assess the condition of these prestressed concrete pipelines. They transport treated fresh water from the IJsselmeer, starting in Andijk and running to Hoorn – a vital part of the region’s water supply. Each robot ran for 11 hours and successfully passed through the butterfly valve in the line – closely monitored by our team to ensure a smooth inspection . The combination of advanced inspection technology and our team’s expertise made it possible to complete the run flawlessly. This project builds on our successful collaboration with PWN: back in 2021, the Water line was inspected using Multicam technology only. This time, we were able to add Wirebreak technology, providing even more detailed data and supporting the long-term safety of the network. The project delivered a thorough condition assessment, representing another milestone in safeguarding the water supply for the people of North Holland, and underscored how technology, teamwork and trust make the difference, enabling millions to rely on clean, safe water every day.

    4. Mixing and Aeration in the pharmaceutical Industry

Mixing and Aeration in the pharmaceutical Industry

In recent years, the HYPERCLASSIC®-Mixing and Aeration Systems have been developed into complete solutions for the industrial and municipal wastewater treatment. The characteristics of a mixer and those of an aerator are uniquely combined by the HYPERCLASSIC®-Mixing and Aeration System. A recent example is the company Ajinomoto Omnichem in Belgium, leader in pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates. The cooperation between Ajinomoto and INVENT began already in 1998, when two HYPERCLASSIC®-Mixing and Aeration Systems were initially installed in Balen and another ten in Wetteren. After these functioned to complete satisfaction, the plant in Balen was extended by five additional machines. After 20 years of reliable service the first two systems were replaced by two of the latest generation in 2020. The mixing and aeration systems in Balen and Wetteren provide mixing and aeration for COD removal and nitrification. Even with a low oxygen demand, a sedimentation-free operation can be ensured. The oxygen content remains homogeneous throughout the basin due to the generated flow. The objective of low-maintenance, yet energy-efficient mixing and aeration, could be achieved with INVENT’s HYPERCLASSIC®-Mixing and Aeration Systems in both plants of Ajinomoto Omnichem.

    5. Mobilis invests in electric equipment

      Mobilis invests in electric equipment

Mobilis invests in electric equipment Mobilis is taking major steps toward emission-free construction by actively investing in electric equipment. This investment aligns with our ambition to have 25% of all operating hours emission-free by 2030. By increasingly deploying electric equipment, we reduce our CO₂ and nitrogen emissions and increase the sustainability of our projects. Insight into impact To enable informed decisions, we developed a tool that provides insight into the emissions of different types of equipment. This allows tender and project teams to easily see where the greatest environmental benefits can be achieved. The demand for insight into equipment impact is increasing, both from clients and within our own projects. First emission-free crane deployed One of the most important recent steps is the deployment of our first fully emission-free crane, the Sany SCE800TB-EV. This crane was immediately put into operation on the project for the expansion and renovation of the wastewater treatment plant in Zwanenburg and subsequently on the railway underpass in Heerhugowaard. Looking ahead With these investments and the continued development of tools like our emissions tool, we are taking targeted steps toward a lower-emission organization. Electrical equipment is playing an increasingly important role in this.

    11. New water treatment plant De Put

New water treatment plant De Put

De Put has reached the end of its technical and economic lifespan and must be replaced in its entirety. In the new situation, there is a newly built station that supplies drinking water of impeccable quality. The classic method will no longer be used, but the RO (Reverse Osmosis) concept with after-treatment will be used. Oasen's ambition to always produce flawless drinking water has led to the choice for a new purification concept. The raw water is treated anaerobically using an RO installation, followed by a post-treatment consisting of ion exchange (IEX), calcite filtration (CaF) and aeration & degassing towers (BOT). Oasen also wants to achieve optimization and sustainability in its production processes with this new construction project. This 'sustainability' means arriving at systems that are more resistant to future pollution compared to conventional systems, as well as leading to energy optimization and a lower CO2 footprint throughout the entire chain. For this Oasen had an integral Technical Design (TO) produced by external consultants from an engineering firm. Before ADS Groep Water can start with the implementation work for the new building, it must completely demolish the existing station and prepare the site for construction in order to subsequently realize a completely new building. ADS Groep is the main contractor for the work and will realize the project together with Hoppenbrouwers (partner) and with subcontractors Logisticon (RO installation, CIP IEX and concentrate discharge), Messer CO2 installation, van Vulpen Infra.
