Fishmigration
Van der Ven has constructed four fish passages on behalf of the Brabantse Delta Water Board, three in Woensdrecht and one in Tilburg, to make weirs passable for fish and to promote fish migration. The project will be completed at the end of 2024. In Woensdrecht, fish lifts have been installed, allowing fish to swim up via a tank with various chambers and pass the weir. In Tilburg, a fish lock has been constructed at the weir on the Dalemdreef in the Dongevallei, which enables fish migration by means of a pipe connection with valves. These fish passages contribute to improving water quality and promote free fish migration in the region.

Flanged ball check valves, serie 53
AVK ball check valves are self-cleaning and with full bore. The ball rotates during use and thus prevents adhesion of impurities to the ball. The full and smooth passage ensures a complete flow with low pressure loss. AVK ball check valves are available with flanges and internal threads. They are supplied as standard with NBR-coated ball and optionally available with polyurethane ball in various weights. Characteristics: - Self-cleaning construction, whereby the ball rotates during use to prevent adhesion of impurities to the ball. - Full bore ensures a low pressure loss and a minimum of back pressure. - Smooth bore eliminates the risk of deposits on the bottom. - NBR vulcanized ball made of aluminum in DN 50-100 and cast iron in DN 125-400. Flowmeter Promag W
Flush water recovery units Loosbroek and Tilburg
G. Van der Ven B.V. Aannemingsbedrijf has realised rinse water recovery units (STUs) on behalf of Brabant Water at the production locations in Tilburg and Loosbroek. These units purify and reuse rinse water, which means that valuable groundwater is used more efficiently for drinking water production, in line with the Delta Plan for Water Conservation. The project included the construction of rinse water processing buildings with cellars, superstructure, installations, solar panels and a sludge line, as well as the site layout. The installations became operational in May 2023 and the project was successfully completed in August 2023.

Flygt 4650 Single Speed Mixer
Designed for high reliability and low energy costs Flygt compact mixer components have not only been engineered for reliable operation and efficient mixing, but to reduce energy costs as well. Xylem's Flygt squirrel-cage induction motor is manufactured for durability and dependability. Stator windings are trickle impregnated in resin and rated at Class H 180 degrees C (355 degrees F) for excellent resistance to overheating. The Flygt plug-in seal features the Active Seal system for zero leakage into the stator housing. Laser-cut grooves on the inner seal faces act as a micro-pump to force any liquid present on the drive-unit back to the buffer fluid side. The seal housing with the barrier fluid helps lubricate and cool the seal, ensuring efficient heat transfer even when running dry. Engineered to generate maximum thrust with minimal use of energy, the propeller blades, with their backswept design, allow highly fibrous material to pass through, while the wide-hub design deflects fibrous material. It is possible to increase mixer efficiency by up to 15% in water, and even higher in viscous liquids, with the optional jet ring, while further reducing energy consumption. Simple installation and maintenance Flygt equipment is rigid enough to withstand the weight and reaction forces exerted by the mixer throughout its operating life. It’s not only robust, but easy to maintain. Flygt compact mixers are usually installed along rigid guide bars at appropriate depths to optimize mixing efficiency, and to help withstand fatigue from strongly fluctuating forces within the tank. Used together with Flygt lifting equipment, guide bar systems enable easy access for inspection and service.

Flygt APP300sx
The APP300sx control cabinet is the updated standard for controlling one or two pumps and offers maximum flexibility for pressure sewer systems and pumping installations. Thanks to its modular design, users can choose a basic Essential version or easily expand it with telemetry options. The open communication protocol IEC 60870-5-104 ensures seamless integration with Xylem Aquaview-X or other SCADA master stations. Communication is direct and secure, and firmware and software updates can now be performed remotely over the air. A mobile display can be connected to the APP300sx pump controller for pressure sewer applications, allowing direct access to essential operating information such as water level and power consumption per pump. Manual operation is simple using the familiar OFF-AUTO-MANUAL switch, which automatically returns to AUTO to prevent unintended continuous pump operation. For reliable performance, the APP300sx pump controller includes advanced protection features, such as phase monitoring (with 4G module) and an adjustable automatic reset after thermal faults instead of a fixed single restart. In addition, the “anti-seizing” setting prevents pumps from sticking during long periods of inactivity. In the event of a power outage, the backup battery ensures that alarms are still transmitted to the central control system (with 4G module).
