New business hall at Segro Park Dortmund: a powerful pumping system was installed this week.

Project Description

During the construction of a new commercial building at Segro Park Dortmund, a temporary pumping system was installed to safely discharge rainwater. Segro Park Dortmund is a modern logistics and business park strategically located in the heart of the Ruhr region, where several new commercial buildings are currently being constructed.

As the new stormwater drainage system is not yet available, a temporary solution is required to safely manage rainwater from the roof of one of the new buildings. The pumping system ensures that the water can be discharged in a controlled manner without affecting the surrounding construction area.

Technical Solution

The temporary pumping system transports the collected rainwater to a designated discharge point over a distance of approximately 400 metres. This provides a practical solution until the permanent stormwater drainage system has been completed and commissioned.

Reliable rainwater drainage is particularly important on a construction site, as heavy rainfall can generate large amounts of water within a short period. The temporary pumping system helps prevent water accumulation and ensures that the surrounding area remains safe and accessible, even during heavy rainfall.

Result

The temporary pumping system provides a reliable solution for managing rainwater throughout the construction phase. By transporting the water over 400 metres to the discharge point, the system reduces the risk of flooding and helps keep the site accessible during periods of heavy rain.
