The model IS-3 intrinsically safe pressure sensor has been designed for gas hazardous areas (EPL Ga) and can also be used with combustible dusts (EPL Da) and in mines susceptible to firedamp (EPL Ma). Due to use of hydrogen, extremely low-temperature measurement during transport and storage is gaining an ever-greater relevance. For this application, with the CryoTemp design,WIKA provides the most suitable option for all relevant temperature measuring instruments. In laboratory trials, resistance thermometers (Pt1000) and thermocouples (type E) were tested for their suitability in cryogenic applications. The special design of the CryoTemp features a high accuracy of +/− 3 Kelvin at minus 253 °C.
