In addition to being the address for manufacturing new products, Machinefabriek De Smidse is also the address for overhauling all your valves and other appendages. This concerns both single pieces and larger numbers. For large companies such as refineries and paper mills, De Smidse works with annual contracts whereby the necessary brand-specific parts (gaskets, balls, etc.) can also be kept in stock. Of course, the appendages can also be removed and installed on location.
During overhaul, the valves are completely dismantled, blasted and cleaned. If necessary, defective parts are replaced. Gaskets are renewed. Gasket surfaces are cleaned and, if necessary, flattened or provided with gasket grooves (e.g. smooth finish). Valves and seats are patched. After assembly, the fittings are again extensively tested for function and tightness. For testing the tightness, De Smidse has various test benches for pneumatic and hydraulic testing with air, nitrogen or water (up to 1,000 bar). Valves are preserved again after testing.
Safety devices (spring or weight) are also treated according to these procedures. After assembly, they are adjusted to the maximum working pressure specified by the customer and provided with a seal and an accompanying test report (measurement certificate). If desired, this can of course also be done with Stoomwezen approval.
